The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) is pleased to announce that eighteen Salem Community High School seniors are honored as Illinois State Scholars. The Illinois State Scholar Program recognizes Illinois high school seniors for outstanding academic achievement. According to SCHS Principal John Boles, "These students have demonstrated outstanding scholarship abilities and are excellent academic representatives for all of our students". Students ranking in the top ten percent of the state's approximately 147,000 graduating high school seniors have been named Illinois State Scholars. Rankings are based on a combination of exemplary college entrance examination scores and class rank at the end of the sixth semester in high school.
